Fitness Tips Week 2: A Balanced Exercise Program - Health Challenge - Times Colonist: "A good, balanced exercise program generally consists of strength work twice per week, and cardiovascular work four times per week at varying intensities. This may be a lot of volume for you as a beginner, so try starting with one strength workout and two cardiovascular days in a week and build your way up to the six workouts, adding one session every one to two weeks."
